Lori Bagnérès, a visual artist born in Ontario, and living in British Columbia graduated from L’école Nationale des Beaux Arts de Grenoble in France receiving her Diplôme National Superieur D’éxpression Plastique (MFA in Contemporary Art).
Lori currently pursues multiple creative interests as a mixed media artist and as an art educator in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. She is a co-founder of 5enses, a collective of five women artists from North Vancouver and has attained active member status at the Federation of Canadian Artists and is equally a member of the North Vancouver Arts Council . Presently, Lori is the curator for Artbomb on the Westcoast of Canada: an online auction selling contemporary art from coast to coast. Her work is shown both in public and private galleries in British Columbia and Ontario, and held in private and public collections throughout Canada, the U.S., France and Australia, and has been recently published in a 10-page article in Acrylic Artist Winter 2016 issue.
through mixed media techniques and a slow concentrated process, I allow my forms to evolve from thin layers of muted colour, accumulated on top of the other until the deep resonant space of abstract landscape is made present... the fusion I then create with image transfer, melds seamlessly into these built-up surfaces, reflecting upon and echoing, our ever-changing cultural and natural environments
