Coldspell

As we return to, perhaps not normal but a new normal, travelling within Canada and across the world has started to slowly re-appear in our lives. I was fortunate enough to take small trips to Whistler and the Rocky Mountains around Christmas and March Break when things began to open up. During these sojourns I realized how important it was to reconnect with each other and nature through play and winter activities.

My focus in this “Coldspell” series is on the ephemeral nuances of a quiet winter wonderland, allowing the viewer not only to see it, but also to feel it. Through my exploration and fusion of photography and paint, I’m also hoping to evoke memories of simpler times or nostalgia of place, and the precious moments that inherently pull us back into nature’s playground.
