Isolation: one year in the making - Group Show at The Gallery George

Isolation+announcemnt+.jpg

These multi-panelled “Fragmented Landscapes” by Lori Bagnérès presented at The Gallery George could not be a more perfect portrayal for the time we are living in, where humans as social beings are disrupted and find themselves in "isolation".

Typically, a single tree is the central 'symbolic" motif in each composition. Lori then enhances this natural element with an entourage of floating geometrical shapes. There exists an inherent tension amid the non-representational and representational however the lyricism between natural and abstract melds to create a new synergy. It is in this gesture of taking apart and putting back, that Lori examines nature’s intrinsic adaptability to change, and a fundamental optimism for resiliency.
